Our first walking day is relatively short (4h40) but strenuous enough, with an immediate 1,000m ascent from Zdiar. The path climbs slowly from 820m to 935m, taking about 45 minutes, and brings you into the White Tatras. From there it gets seriously steep, but not hugely difficult. From here, the view of Gerlachovsky Stit (2,650m), the highest point in Slovakia and Poland is incredible! After visiting both summits, we start our way down carefully. The way is very steep and rocky! Technically this part is the most challenging.
