A Walking Holiday in Luberon, Provence, France. Set in the heart of Provence, the enchantingly pretty Luberon Hills stretch east to west from Manosque to Cavaillon, and north to south from Apt to the Durance river. The area is named after the main range; a compact massif with an easy 1100m summit. The northern face is steep and rich in oaks, whereas the south is drier and more typically ‘Mediterranean‘.
Most of the Luberon is within the boundaries of the “Parc Naturel du Luberon”, one of the best conserved natural parks in France. The landscape is very subtle; roofs in extremely pretty ochres and terracottas and countless rows of lavender. The area is also dotted with ‘bories’, 1-2 story high beehive-shaped huts constructed in the Bronze Age. No one can say for sure what their purpose was however, some people say they are not unlike Ireland’s ‘clochan’.

Provence
This trip has been designed for people who want to experience some of the most interesting and chilled-out French culture, in comfort. The hilly countryside is exceptional; rich in almonds and apricots, olives and grain. There can be no doubt that this is Provence!
