Goms, the northeastern part of the valais. The valley stretches from Grengiols to the Rhone glacier. The landscape of the upper Rhone River is well known for its pristine beauty and wonderful tranquility. Aletschwald, one of the highest pine forests in Europe, which in turn overlooks the gigantic Aletsch Glacier, a mammoth ice sheet ” longest in the Alps ” which winds its way down 23km from the base of the Jungfrau. Relax in our inns, enjoy excellent cuisine and visit taverns typical of the area.
The Goms has 70 Baroque churches and chapels, Gothic altars and other cultural treasures. You will find arts and crafts, concerts and traditional theater and folklore performances. The village of Ernen is famous for its annual master classes in singing and organ playing.		 Calanques

puce DAY 1 – Coming to Obergesteln

After your flight to Zurich or Geneva, you will be pre-booked in our modern 2-star hotel in the heart of town. Facilities include swimming pool and sauna and all rooms are en-suites.

Town: Internet, ATM, Food shop, vibrant city, all facilities, plenty of restaurants, pubs, and clubs

puce DAY 2 – Obergesteln. Day with Options [4h00, 11km, +350m, -350m]
Today, as we stay in Obergeseln, we will the choice between: Relaxing & enjoy this atmospheric city and maybe strolling along the cobbled streets, or going for an easy walk and getting an overview of the valley. From the hotel we climb through a pine forest to the foot of the Grimselpass catching the most beautiful views on the city.

puce DAY 3 – Obergeseln to Munster [4h00, 10.5km, +252m, -300m]
Today, we take a scenic trail through meadows of primrose. It’s an easy 3h30 walk along the Rhone River. So take your time & admire the majestic mountain looming above and the local Art and woodcraft.

puce DAY 4 – Munster. Day with Options [3h30, 9km, +320m, -320m]
We will stay 2 nights in Munster so we give 2 options: Either visiting the medieval city of Munster and Stroll along the cobbled streets. Or, if you feel like walking, we recommend a balcony path ascending gently above the village, to give you the most spectacular views on the valley! On the way don’t miss the 16th century church! Later, back to the hotel the dinner will be exceptional!

 puce DAY 5 – Munster to Blitzingen [4h00, 11km, +150m, -200m]

After a luxury breakfast we take an easy path up to the Reckingerbach River at 1760m, here there is a most unusual mountain restaurant by the stream; with its garden gnomes, jokes painted on the walls, and a guardian who insisted to write in his visitors’ book. From here the path crosses a succession of streams, the Walibach, Hilpersbach, Wilerbach and, and crossing green pasture and lovely wooden chalets. The next 3 nights in a 4-star hotel, kids friendly, as they can enjoys numerous of activities like an initiation to the Via Ferrata… The restaurant appears in the famous “Gault Millau” & the “Guide bleu”, is just SUPERB

puce DAY 6 – Blitzingen. Free day
From the town take the cable car up the Eggishorn (2927m), an unspoiled vantage point, above the hamlet of Kuhboden, offering the finest views of the glacier Aletsch for a 360 degree Alpine Panorama and on the magisterial the Eiger, Matterhorn are just Breath-taking.

puce DAY 7 – Blitzingen. Day with Options [5h, 13.5km, +50m, -50m]
As we stay a third night in our luxury hotel, you have the option to relax in town, visit Zermatt, less than an hour away by train, or to come with us for a walk. We start ascending to the Schwarzer Brunnen River at 1371m, and then the path climbs again up to 1622m at Obermatta before gradually descending to the outskirts of Bellwald. From here you can take a chairlift up and get great views of this part of the Goms valley. Later today, we will go back to Blitzingen by a low path mostly on the shade.
