DAY 1 - Coming to Avignon.
After your flight to Marseilles, you will be pre-booked in a traditional 2* hotel "logis de France" in the heart of town.

DAY 2 – Free half-day in Avignon & Mérindol.
The first part of the day is free, and we recommend you to stroll along the medieval streets of this fantastic town, and discover its fantastic atmosphere. Not to be missed: The palace of the popes [residence of a rival of the Vatican, classified UNESCO World heritage], the bridge “Saint-Benézet” famously known as the “Pont d’Avignon”, the Bel tower, and the rock Doms! Note that it’s also possible to cruise on the Rhone River [http://www.mairie-avignon.fr/en/]. Such an amazing day already!
After your visit of the "City of the Popes", transfer by bus (not included, around €8, 1h) to the village of Merindrol. here, you will have the choice to relax in the garden of the Guest house, or to visit the charming little village. Merindol was distroyed in 1547 during the repressions against the reformed church, and then reconstruct 100 years later an turn into a very attractive place.

DAY 3 - Mérindol, Gorge du Régalon, Mérindol. [5h, 14km, +/-485m].
A circular walk to admire the Gorge du Régalon, created there is nearly 6 million years during the formation of the Alps. An extraordinary canyon 30m high and sometimes as narrow as 50cm! The silts attests passage of the sea 2 million years ago. The Strolls follows an easy route through these Gorges and passes through an area called "le Petit Luberon". The "Ferme des mayorques" for the perfect stop for lunch!

DAY 4 – Mérindol to Combe de Recaute [7h, 18km, +521m -445m].
across Magnificents Cedar Trees, we following the ridge at the top of the hills, into the "petit Luberon". Passing the village of Lauris, we can admire the Durance river winding away, the beautifull alpilles hills to the west, and the Luberon.

DAY 5 – Recaute, Lourmarin, Buoux (via Lourmarin) [4h, 11km, +586m -435m].
Short transfer to Lourmarin. The village is listed amongs "les plus beaux villages de France" (the most beautiful villages of France. The village is mediteranen with his narrow coble streets and Ochre houses. Albert Camus, the famous writer, lived, wrote, and have been buried here. The atmosphere is very provencal, with plenty of cafe-terrasses, very relaxing indeed. From there we will head toward Buoux in the middle of vineyards, olive groves and almond trees. The village is dominated by a Spur where a Fort was protecting the area. During the war of the religion the Fort was partialy destructed but can be still visited. The village has an unique style and character, and most of the houses date from the end of the 17th century.

DAY 6 – Buoux, Sivergues, Saignon [4h, 10 km, +315m -260m].
An easy day, perfect for enjoying the "Grand Luberon". We follow the Aiguebrun river and its Gorge to the hamlet of Sivergues. Only 8 families lives here, and they are mostly working the lavender and goat breeding! If you stroll in the village, don't miss the Fort de l'Archidiacre built (13th century). It overlooks the whole of the Aiguebrun valley! Then still following the river we arrive at Apt Saignon listed as "villages de caractère du Vaucluse". It's a fanstastic natural fortress carved into the rock by the wind and water. Numerous of caves and stairs have been also drilled into.

DAY 7 – The Colorado Provençal [5h30 - 12km, +491m -420m].
We take the direction of Rustrel, a tiny village nestled at the foot of the Plateau d’Albion, and dominated by a magnificent 17th century castle. Rustrel is also famous for his wine the "Cotes du Ventoux". Along the way we pass an ancian Ochre Quary open more than 100yo, and now called the Colorado Provencal. It's an incredible succession of rusty–coloured rocks, golden cliffs and red earthen chimneys which rise majestically out of the vegetation. After the walk, short transfer to Apt by bus (1h, around €5).
